Chana Chat Masala is a healthy dish, a healthy breakfast available in a number of streets across the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar in India. Affordable and cheap, the students flock to the stalls which serve the dish. The dish has had been given a mild twist to the traditional Chana Chat Masala we get on the streets.

The Easy and Healthy Salad


Chana Chat Masala is a delicious, easy to prepare and a healthy dish which can be served for both breakfast or evening snacks. The dish has been a breakfast for me for nearly 3 years during my engineering days and can be commonly found near joggers park or hostels in Allahabad. Have added some twist to the recipe of my own. Hope you enjoy the dish.


Recipe – Chana Chat Masala

Serves: 4

15 minutes for preparation


  • 2 cups sprouted chana
  • 1 cup sprouted mung
  • 1 cup green chana
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate kernels
  • 1 onion
  • 1 inch ginger cube
  • 2 garlic flakes
  • 1 green chili
  • 1/4 raw mango
  • 1 cucumber
  • 4 strand coriander leaves
  • 8-10 mint leaves
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon chat masala
  • 1 teaspoon jeera powder
  • 1 pinch sugar
  • Salt to taste


  1. Chop onion, ginger, garlic, green chilies, raw mango, cucumber, coriander leaves, mint leaves into small pieces.
  2. Peel the pomegranate and keep the kernels aside.
  3. Mix all the ingredients prepared with sprouted chana, sprouted mung, green chana, jeera powder, chat masala, salt, lime juice, sugar and salt.

You are ready to serve healthy Chana Chat Masala.
