Maharasthra has a number of cuisines, which includes peanuts and coconut… Depending on the area where you are visiting, you will find the variance in the recipes… The more close you get to the Konkan belt, you will find the use of peanuts diminishing and coconuts rising… Compared to the other parts of Maharashtra where peanut has its dominance in most of the recipes… Mango chutney is also a famous part in the Northern part of Maharashtra where it shares it borders with the central part of India.
Recipe – Peanut Garlic Chutney
Serves: 4
15 minutes for preparation
Ingredients:
- 1 cup raw peanuts
- 3-4 green chilies
- 7-8 flakes garlic
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Roast the raw peanuts in a frying pan for 5 minutes and let it cool.
- In a mortar and pestle, put the roasted peanuts, green chilies, garlic flakes and salt and crush them coarsely.
- Let rest for 2 minutes and crush again.
You are now ready to serve the spicy and yummy Peanut Garlic Chutney with Baigan Bharta and hot chapattis…
